Summer School Sanguis Jovis 2025

Heritage: the frontier of value between terroir and storytelling

From July 7 to 11, 2025, the eighth edition of the Sanguis Jovis Summer School returns to Montalcino, promoted by the Banfi Foundation. This one-of-a-kind program in Italy offers a unique opportunity for education, culture, and networking, aimed at professionals and future leaders in the wine world.

An innovative format blending training and inspiration

The Summer School aims to train a new generation of wine professionals with a broad and contemporary vision—one that integrates production, sustainability, communication, and marketing. Participants—university students, PhD candidates, young professionals, and industry managers—will take part in an intensive, residential program with 50 hours of training, including lectures, round tables, field experiences, and informal discussions.

The 2025 Theme: Heritage

This year's edition will focus on heritage, understood as the cultural, natural, and economic legacy that defines the wine world. The school will explore how the past can be leveraged as a resource to shape the future, highlighting the relationship between terroir and storytelling.

The program, led by Professor Alberto Mattiacci with the scientific direction of Professor Attilio Scienza, includes faculty members from diverse academic fields—economics, marketing, biotechnology, anthropology—as well as key players from leading Italian wine companies.

Where and how to apply
The school will be held at OCRA – Officina Creativa dell’Abitare in Montalcino. A maximum of 20 participants will be selected, divided into two categories: Student and Professional. Applications must be submitted by June 16, 2025.

Scholarships and participation grants are available, made possible thanks to the support of companies in the wine supply chain.

An investment in the future
Participating in the Sanguis Jovis Summer School means becoming part of a long-lasting alumni community, building genuine connections, and gaining concrete tools to tackle the challenges of the wine sector in an increasingly global, sustainable, and digital world.
